*Billy Corgan frequented Medusa’s as a teenager. Located on Sheffield at School Street, Medusa’s was the only consistent all-ages music club in Chicago. Billy met pre-Pumpkins bandmates Greg Bates and (later) Ron Roesing at Medusa’s circa 1984/85. He also befriended a girl who was dating a singer/guitarist named Len Ayala (formerly of local punk band Product 19). Not long after they were introduced, Billy and Len started recording together at Len’s house. After a few successful sessions, Len suggested that his friend join them. Enter James Iha! | |||

- Billy Corgan frequented Medusa’s as a teenager. Located on Sheffield at School Street, Medusa’s was the only consistent all-ages music club in Chicago.
