BC: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are the Smashing Pumpkins, thank you very much for coming tonight. We now take the - uh (rewinding noise), start again. We’d now like to take this opportunity to play some new songs from our forthcoming album.
Glass' Theme
The Imploding Voice
D’arcy: You know, we don't have a new record to support and people are probably wondering, what the hell is this tour about, you know? I've been wondering, what the hell is this tour about? It's just about having fun, isn't it? Are we having fun? I'm having fun. I mean, that sounds corny but I mean, we don't usually, you know. You know, we're not like a fun band really, you know. But I think we’re having fun. He's smiling! Good lord! Somebody, where’s a camera?
Dross
Speed Kills
Blue Skies Bring Tears
BC: Thank you very much, thank you.
Stand Inside Your Love
Glass and the Ghost Children
Wound
Cash Car Star
Ava Adore
BC: Thank you so much. God bless you.
Today
[encore break]
Iha: Grazie, grazie.
D’arcy: Wow. Over the ten years we've been together...
BC: No, it's longer.
D’arcy: Something like that anyway, whatever.
BC: Eleven.
D’arcy: Whatever.
BC: How about if you subtract Jimmy's time out? It’s probably like nine [unintelligible].
D’arcy: Yeah, whatever, anyway, whatever. We will learn to say thank you in about a million different languages and we say them all to you right now...in our minds. But for me, this is a really, like, big show, you guys have been great. I’m.... Best audience I've ever seen in Michigan, which is, shut up, important to me, because I'm from Michigan. And this is like a real rock show and I can tell ‘cause I'm actually sweating for a change, you guys sweating? Yes, this is the real deal, you're sweating, you know it.
Iha: Alright, we're gonna go back in time to another old song. We know you like the old songs so...here it is!
Muzzle
Soma
BC: God bless you, goodnight, goodnight.
[encore break]
Iha: Thanks again, thanks again.
D’arcy: What are you all screaming about? Oh yeah, I know what it is, you're screaming about Jimmy. We saw a lot of signs, “welcome back, Jimmy,” and we thank you for welcoming him back. We just wanna say one more thank you.
Jimmy: Thank you everybody, it's good to be back. Detroit Rock City.
BC: What I wanna know is about that trip to Africa, Jimmy.
Iha: While Jimmy was uh, when Jimmy was not in the group, he was a um, African explorer. He was also a race car driver. He was also a roughneck on an oil rig.
D’arcy: Oh, that's really for real. It's true.
Iha: Jimmy has become a renaissance man and he's only doing this one show with us and then he goes - he goes back to Egypt to explore the great pyramids.
Home
If There is a God (Billy solo acoustic)
> With Every Light (acoustic)
BC: Peace. God bless you, god bless you.
[encore break]
D’arcy: We only know one more song. This is a song that we couldn't play with any other drummer. Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I - I have to take that back, this is a song that any other drummer couldn't play with us.
Iha: Thank you very much. This is the last song and very hard work.
D’arcy: Let's - can we play it with him?
BC: One last time...you guys rule.
Iha: Alright, are you ready to rumble?
D’arcy: It's, it’s, it’s, it’s Michigan, what do you want?
