Conan O’Brien: It’s a real thrill to have our next guests with us, uh, here with a song from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, the Smashing Pumpkins.

Conan: Everybody, we’re back and uh, first of all, my - I wanna thank the Smashing Pumpkins, that was amazing, thank you very much for coming here and doing that. Let’s talk about tomorrow for just a second, you guys are up for seven Grammys. Alright, have you thought about what you would say if and when you get up there, are you gonna write a - are you gonna write something out in case you go up there or just wing it?
BC: We always assume we’re gonna lose, so...we just, heh, we go in with a losing attitude and everything else is positive.
Conan: That’s great, that’s the theme of this show, yeah, alright. You guys just finished an 18 month tour and people I don’t think appreciate what a grind that can be, how much work it could be, what are you gonna do now, you have plans for...you know, just taking it easy, you gonna sit around, eat nachos, watch TV, are you gonna...?
D’arcy: Twizzlers, would you like one?
Conan: I would love a Twizzler. (takes one from D’arcy)
D’arcy: We’re just gonna live on Twizzlers.
Conan: So it’s just gonna be...
BC: But first....
Conan: ...a couple solid months of eating Twizzlers?
D’arcy: While in the studio.
BC: Well, of course the first thing we did was we went right back in the studio, heh heh...
Conan: Oh really?
BC: ...did - went back to work, yeah.
Conan: Uh huh, but is that actually therapeutic and like, relaxing compared to touring or it neurotic and insane when you get in the studio?
BC: (gesturing) It’s its own kinda pathology, you know.
Conan: Right, okay, I think it sounds a lotta fun, heh, alright.
BC: We’re kinda infamous for making rock and roll an enticing profession.
Conan: Uh huh, uh huh, well, we can’t thank you guys enough for coming here and you made this a terrific show for us, thank you.
BC: Now, see, I don’t want to cut you off but like, I met Andy before and he didn’t even remember meeting me.
Conan: Really?
BC: Yeah. (crowd says “awww” mixed with a few boos; Andy gets up and walks offstage) I think this is it.
Conan: Hahahahahahaha! I think that was Andy’s last night, what do you mean he didn’t remember meeting you? He told me earlier today he remembered meeting you.
BC: He was a little (imitates a drunk person) tipsy and uh....
Conan: That’s how Andy relaxes before the show!
BC: He, you know, he had that look, you know, when you loosen the tie, he was at one of the Saturday Night Live parties and he was like, (imitates a drunk person waving a drink) “Heeeyyy,” you know, one of those, and so....
(Andy comes back on stage)
Conan: Hahahahahaha! Andy, is this true?
Andy: (slowly) Those parties are a lot of pressure for me.
Conan: Hahahahaha! Alright, well, speaking of which, I’m under some pressure to end this show now or I’m going to get yelled at by a major network.
