BC: Gettin’ old.
> The Rose March (Billy solo acoustic)
United States / Star Spangled Banner
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
BC: Thank you very much, thank you. We’re very excited - what? What does that mean? “Take me backstage”? She obviously doesn’t know the rules. See, you see, the one says - wait, other side, “Take me backstage” and then the other side, “I won’t bring my boyfriend.” That’s the other side - oh, he’s not, that’s your brother, right, yeah, okay, heh heh. Anyway, we’re very excited to be here tonight. Very excited. This is uh, an incredible place to play and we’re very honored. About nine years ago, I think we played at the new Opry. Anyone was there? Nobody was there, heh, it was empty. And uh, the funny thing was at the other Opry, they said we couldn’t play electric. I don’t know what they thought we were gonna do, bring in the devil skull or something. So we played acoustic and then now tonight we’re here again, obviously blasting your brains out. Ah.
Drown
Bring the Light
> Tonight, Tonight
> Tarantula
That’s the Way
> Lucky 13 (w/extended outro)
Hummer
> Glass and the Ghost Children
BC: Thank you! Everybody alright? Normally I ask about one-seventh of the way through the show if everybody’s alright.
Girl in crowd: I love you!
Guy in crowd: Booooooo!!
BC: Heh heh.
1979 (Billy solo acoustic)
(45 seconds of crowd cheering for Jimmy coming back on stage)
BC: Shit. You’d think you were related to Minnie Pearl. Most people don’t know this but the song Mr. Tambourine Man was written about Jimmy. Little known Pumpkin fact, Bob Dylan just happened to be passing through town. At that point you were only what, six? The song was written in 1966, when were you born? Okay, so you were four. Just how old are you?!
Perfect (Billy acoustic w/Jimmy tambourine)
To Sheila (acoustic)
BC: Shh! Shh, this is not a rock and roll party.
Today
Superchrist
Heavy Metal Machine / White Rabbit / White Horse
> On the Road Again
> I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll
(BC at beginning: Ladies and gentlemen of Nashville...please put your hands together one last time for us. That’s right. Come on. We’d like you to sing along with us on this last song. Don’t be shy. (singing) I love rock and roll...)
(BC when band stops after 1 round of call-and-response: (singing) I love rock and roll. (pause for Ginger/Lisa response) (speaking) Wait, stop, that’s some weak ass singin’. This is Music City U.S.A., right? Alright. Don’t make me sing about gettin’ drunk and beatin’ up my woman to get you to respond. Come on! Alternative rock nation, ahh, whatever’s left of it. We’re not a sing along type of band but this is that moment. (singing) I love rock and roll...)
(BC right before big ending: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much, goodnight, we love you!)
[encore break]
Pomp and Circumstances
> Cherub Rock
