BC: Good evening, Tokyo. ... Heh heh. Thank you very much for coming to our concert tonight. I was walking around today, you know, so hot...and I told one of my Japanese friends, I said, “It’s like you live in a beautiful hell.” A very beautiful hell, heh heh. (lots of crowd yelling) I’m sorry, I don’t speak Japanese.
Girl in crowd: I love you!
BC: I don’t speak Japanese.
DIA
Pretty, Pretty Star
Sittin’ on Top of the World
All Things Change
Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Love (tease - once through riff, very quietly)
Guy in crowd: I dare ya!
BC: Heh heh heh! I ain’t talkin’ about love.
Another guy in crowd: Yes, do it!
BC: Heh heh heh heh. Uhh...hmm. Uh, later we’re going to go karaoke. Yeah, everyone’s invited to karaoke. We’ll have a massive karaoke. Am I saying it right?: karaoke.
Girl in crowd: [unintelligible].
BC: Hmm? He said “have sex with me,” I don’t know what that means. You want to have sex at the karaoke?
Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Love (tease - 4 times through riff with a little improv singing)
BC: (singing) Sex at karaoke. Sex at karaoke. (stops tease) (speaking) I’ve never had sex at the karaoke. (to Linda) Have you had sex at the karaoke? You have!
Linda: Heh heh.
BC: Does your mother know?
Linda: It was a while ago.
BC: Heh heh heh, sorry. Back to professional rock show.
Walking Shade
Bit 5
BC: Thank you.
[encore break]
BC: Ernesto, can you put up the house lights? Not you, the lights. (crowd cheering) Can you uh, put more light on the stage for a second? This is the last show of our tour. I guess - I guess the band has quit, heh heh heh. Yes, we’ve uh, we’ve played in Europe and America, Australia and New Zealand and uh, now Japan. And uh, this is the end of our tour, this’ll probably be the last show, uh, before I go back to recording again. So um, thank you very much for coming. Now I would like to take a good picture. Now, anytime a girl fans says, “Can I take a picture with you?” and it’s “Okay, sure” and then the girl comes and she fixes her hair. Guys never fix their hair but the girls always fix their hair. So girls, fix your hair. (pause for picture taking) I’d like to thank everybody personally, I usually don’t introduce the band but tonight I’d like to introduce the band. I never learned her name...I think it’s Linda though...Linda Strawberry. On the - on the futuristic drums, Mr. Matt Walker. Heh, what do you do (laughing) again? On the noisemaking...Mr. Brian Liesegang. Now uh, hmm.... (people in crowd yelling)
Guy in crowd: Play more songs!
BC: Right, thank you. So uh, we’ll play some music now. ... (softly) Okay, now pretend you’re at a quiet - a concert.
I’m a King Bee / Turning Japanese / Today / Star Spangled Banner
> It’s a Long Way to the Top
[encore break]
BC: Thank you very much, thank you. ... So uh, many Japanese fans are always asking me, “When are you coming back to Japan?” So uh, next time you see me, it’ll probably be with Smao Pum. ... Are you sure you can handle the heavy metal? Heh heh. So um, couple things, uh, thank you for a wonderful response, wonderful acceptance, uh, wonderful support, I thank you humbly. This is a great place to play and a great country. ...
Liesegang: Should also thank the fans. ...
BC: What was your name, what is your name?
Girl from crowd: Leyko.
BC: Leyko? Nice to meet you, Leyko. Leyko, where are you from? (enunciating clearly) Where are you from?
Girl from crowd: Kawasaki.
BC: Where they make your motorcycles. Motorcycles? Does Kawasaki have a baseball team?
Girl from crowd: Has male soccer and football team. (laughing nervously)
BC: So...every once in a while at a very special show, um, to - as an offering, I would like to sing you a prayer that I sing every day, if I can manage it, and uh, so I wanted to sing the song to someone, so I’d like to sing the song to you.
