Corgan bass solo over Fiorentino's shoulder in the banter-break between Pinwheels and Oceania
Banter
[…] Pinwheels
Corgan: We do not play the blues. We do not play jazz. We play songs of the heart. [unintelligible] ... c'est bon. So thank you, we hope you have a good time. We're blessed... we're blessed to be with you. I'd introduce the band to you... [to Jeff] You're not in your spot. On the guitar, Jeff Schroeder. Jeff, you have... [? big plans, unintelligible], right? Schroeder: Ya, in a former life. I was torn apart trying to pay for it. Corgan: On the drums, the young, ... [unintelligible], the searching, the probing, the penetrating Michael Byrne. Mike did not know love until we came to France. On the bass guitar the lovely Nicole Fiorentino. How come you always get extra cheers? You get more cheers than I do. Fiorentino: [unintelligible] Yea, that's their favorite instrument. Corgan:That? Fiorentino: The bass, it's their favorite instrument. Corgan: Oh, the bass. We'd like to carry on... you want to play a bass solo, or...? [Schroeder laughs; cheers] I can play a bass solo. Fiorentino: Do it. [Corgan plays on her bass, Schroeder and Byrne join in; applause] Corgan: Stanley Clarke is looking for me right now. Stanley Clarke. [someone in the audience: "Billy!"] Yes. What's my name? [Billy-chant] My name is fucking Pierre... Piere Cologne [?] ... [unintelligible] Fiorentino: You played the bass guitar. Corgan [to audience]: Today? Today? [cheers] No, it's tonight. Make sure to... [unintelligible] tomorrow. I will meet you tomorrow. No, tomorrow. Fiorentino: Oh it's fun. Corgan: [unintelligible]… you can't stop them. I love the French accent, it's just so [?]. To my untrained, unsophisticated American ears it just sounds like [imitates voice] wazazasasa. So we'd like to carry on now. This is the title track from our album Oceania. We hope you enjoy the journey, it is called Oceania.
