Banter
Corgan: Hello. Can I ask if everyone would sit down? It makes for a better concert. I promise, everyone's happier, I swear. Iha: Also, our drummer Jimmy, he's sick, so...we were gonna rock out the house with him, but...
Corgan: Hey...So we're just gonna, since Jimmy's not here we're just gonna play one song and then everybody can go home, so...you guys don't really wanna see us without Jimmy anyway. You cried the same cry in 98, Jimmy who? No, he's got uh...
Iha: There's something wrong with his eye.
Corgan: He has a missile in his eye. Sorry um...
Iha: How's everybody doing?
This Time
Today
If There Is a God / Glass and the Ghost Children
Corgan: Thank you very much, thank you. Thank you everybody. Does anyone need to stand up for a minute to sit back down? There you go, I see that guy. Alright, we're taking a standing break. Ok...how do you feel James?
Iha: I am ok.
Corgan: He looks sad? She says you look sad. This is what he looks like when he's happy, you should see him when he looks sad.
Iha: There is any inner joy that you're not seeing.
Corgan: Alright class, sit back down, it's time for the test. Is everybody OK? Cause um, we were up all night hanging out in Miami, so we're really tired, if you want us to quit now, it's cool.
Disarm
Corgan: Yes I do...I have a couple more good years left, I swear.
Heavy Metal Machine
1979
Corgan: Thank you.
Iha: Thanks, thank you all.
[encore break]
Iha: Yes we're back, jackpot.
Corgan: It's never over!
Iha: So, um, I'd like to quickly introduce our new bassist, miss Melissa auf der Maur, she is having a hell of a time. And um, so with Jimmy not being here today, he was actually out in the ocean boogie-boarding, and he was boogie boarding along off the shore by the hotel, and this jellyfish, this little jellyfish landed right on his eye, and right now they're both in the hospital and we're trying to save both of them. As far as I know, the jellyfish, Jimmy is in stable condition, the jellyfish is in um, I guess it's in the emergency room right now. Apparently the jellyfish, he's a real fighter, and the jellyfish has given 110 percent out there, and we are all praying for the jellyfish to make it through. Alright, we are going to do another new song from our new album which will come out later this month, and we are coming back to do a regular tour in a couple of month, and we hope you'll all be there, and we thank you all for coming today.
Corgan (over intro): Pick it up a little bit Jimmy...it's a joke! it's a joke, it's a joke, James, it's a joke!
I of the Mourning
[note: rest of show from SPFC transcription]
Corgan: Ok. Lets try one more different track, okay, you, you right there come here...
Louie Louie (tease)
Corgan: Yes come here. You don't have to if you don't want to, but, hold on. You, yes. Come here. Hold on, hold on, hold on you right there, come here, ok. We're going to play pumpkin trivia. Whoever gets this, whoever wins gets a special prize, hold on. ok...When is my birthday? What is the date? If you're not playing the contest, it doesn't matter what you think. Question two. Okay, what was the name of my original band?
fan: the marked, from right here in Florida.
Corgan: Correct! One point for you. Okay. What was the name of our first single and the B-Side.
fan: I Am One
BC: What's the B-Side?
Corgan: Not worth asking. Sorry. 1989, Limited Potential label. Okay, uhm. Let's see. Uuhm. They're not going to know that. And the prize is so good you gotta... are you uncomfortable playing this contest?
fan: WHAT IS THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF YOUR SKULL?
Corgan: Are you no longer comfortable playing this contest? Are you a little out of your depth? Okay. Hold on..on your side. Okay, ready? okay, ready? you're not playing anymore. Ok, you're out of the contest. No distractions. You're not two people. Here's a trick question. How old am I? Oh, thank you, no.
fan: 32
Corgan: correct. Okay. All right, one more question. What is James' middle name?
fan: Alan
Billy: Alan? Is your middle name Alan?
fan: He has no middle name.
Corgan: Good guess, but wrong. Um...um...when was the band formed?
fan: 1988!
Corgan: correct. '88. ding ding ding ding. What city are we now in?
fans: Miami!
Corgan: correct, it's a tie! Ok, last and final question, this will decide the tiebreaker, for the special prize, um...why do men suck so bad?
fan: Because they're.....
Corgan: Say it again one more time, hold on, hold on.
Contestant: Because they're men.
Corgan: That's the correct answer, you win the special prize. Ding ding ding ding. You get the complimentary pick, and you win, because Jimmy's not here, you get Jimmy's guitar. AND, this isn't just any guitar, this guitar was used on the new album, Machina/The Machines of God coming out February 29. Why's this guy giving you the finger? I'm sorry you're not in the contest sir. You wouldn't have won anyway. You're not cute enough. You're not as cute as she is. James? OK, that's very nice, James is giving you a guitar pedal as a runner up prize. A Super Phaser. James, was that pedal used on the album? That pedal was used on the album as well. Here you go, signed this guitar for you hope you enjoy, I'm giving you the case too. So, uh, ok everyone's got to go home now. Goodbye. Love you. Thank you. Take care everybody.
