Sarabande Intro

The Colour of Love

Today

Bullet with Butterfly Wings

Iha: Thank you thank you, Greensboro. Alright! How you guys doin'? We're good, we're uh, we are the Smashing Pumpkins, thank you so much for coming out tonight! It's a very windy, windy night and uh, the air is full of magic. And uh...let's uh, let's rock.

Ugly

Drown

(Quiet intro begins)

BC: Thank you very much but ladies and gentlemen, thank you, I can't talk. But I can sing! Can't talk but I can sing. Like to take it back one more time. To the good old grunge days. What did we used to say, "Fuck grunge"? What was that, "Fuck grunge"? Grunge is good!

Iha: I like grunge.

BC: Grunge is good. We'll send this out to all the...all our fellow generation that we've lost, we'll send a prayer up there, okay, to our grunge friends. It's a little song we like to call Quiet.

Quiet

Cyr

Once in a Lifetime

Solara

Iha: Thank you, thank you very much. Uh, we'd like to uh, thank our opening band, Bones UK, for uh...for being very nice people, for being a nice, great opening band, thank you so much.

Eye

> Ava Adore

(BC before bridge: Jeffrey, give these people some Eddie Van Halen.)

Blister in the Sun (tease - Billy plays first 5-6 notes)

Iha: Like....

Blister in the Sun (tease - Billy starts playing the riff quietly and Iha sings over it)

Iha: (singing) And I'm so strung out. High as a kite but I just might stop to check you out. (Billy switches to playing chords but clearly doesn't know the right ones and Iha immediately points at him) Let me go on...like a blister in the sun, let me go on...(speaking) heh heh, you're cheating. (Billy stops) (singing) Big hands, I know you're the one.

BC: But what is that moment like when you figure out that the big hands is the...big, you know they're the one.

Iha: Well, I don't know...

BC: What is that moment like?

Iha: ...I never really thought about the lyrics but they are...those are strong lyrics. Great, great song.

BC: You know, I'm a, I'm a strappin' six two, six three. But we have a saying in Chicago: "Big hands...(points at crowd)...big songs." Thank you so much for a wonderful evening, thank you so much. We're havin' a great time, we hope you're havin' a great time too. And uh...this is probably my favorite moment in the show because we get to stop for a second and we get to thank each and every one of you for supporting our band. For supporting our music.

Iha: Thank you.

BC: And hey, even supporting our big hands. It's worked out well. So we like to dedicate this song to you. And uh, please feel free to sing along if you'd like to, you might know this one. If you're a deep cut fan, you know this one, it's little obscure. Who's a deep cut fan? (crowd cheers) 'Bout 80 people...

Iha: Pretty good, thank you.

BC: ...80 people listen to the B-sides, we appreciate that. Who knew when we were doing all those B-sides, like, 80 people? Who knew? Anyway. This is a little song we like to call Tonight, Tonight.

Tonight, Tonight (Billy/Iha acoustic)

Starla

Cherub Rock (with Rhinoceros & Siva teases in intro)

> Zero

> Love Gun (tease)

(Billy and Jeff are doodling a little)

BC: [2 unintelligible words].

Sweet Leaf (tease - Billy plays the first 5 notes)

BC: (pointing at Iha) You feel like singing Sweet Leaf tonight?

Iha: What's that?

BC: Do you feel like Swee -- singing Sweet Leaf tonight?

Iha: Uh...I uh, I can't do that one.

BC: Only on 4/20.

Iha: I can do Violent Femmes but, heh, I can't do....

BC: Only on 4/20.

Sweet Leaf (tease - Billy doodles with the riff more)

BC: (high pitched Ozzy impression) Alright. (normal voice) You know, I can't believe, I can't believe that Black Sabbath ripped off...Give It Away by the Chili Peppers, it's just such a fucked up thing.

Iha: I thought the same thing, that's weird because I think they came later, but then--

BC: Well, they have a time machine, most people don't know that...

Iha: I don't know, it's uncanny.

BC: ...the Peppers. That's why they never get old, they just have a time machine. (once more through the riff) God bless everybody, thank you so much, thank you. We cannot possibly thank you enough, so this'll have to do, but honestly, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for a wonderful evening of music.

FOL / Your Love

BC over extended outro: (high pitched) Ow. (normal voice) Alright, alright alright. Heh heh heh. Have you had a good time? Do you feel James's love tonight? I just wanna use your love tonight, I just wanna feel your love tonight.

Iha: Yeah, I feel it. A British band, heh.

BC: (high pitched singing) I don't wanna lose your love tonight.

Iha: Great voice.

BC: (high pitched singing) I just wanna use your love tonight, (speaking) who did that song, I don't....

Iha: I'm not, I don't think it's workin' because--

BC: It's not Loverboy, it's uh.... Do you feel Jeff's love tonight? It comes from a long way but do you feel Jack's love all the way from England? That's where they invented football. Did you know they invented the NFL in Europe?

Iha: What's, what's that about Europe?

BC: Do you feel the love of the greatest drummer on god's green earth, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin?

Iha: Hey hey.

(brief Jimmy solo)

Iha: Oh!

BC: Kick that shit. Am I just goin' off here or what am I doin'?

Iha: Who likes jazz fusion? Spinal Tap. (Billy plays 4 notes) (laughing) Oh, I, I didn't really think we were gonna do that. (Billy solos briefly and then plays licks that Iha copies by scatting in a high pitched voice) Heh heh. Pretty high.

BC: (scats the same notes he's playing)

Iha: We do uh, two sets a night. When we come back, we'll be back.

BC: (singing the same notes he's playing) I just want to feel your love tonight.

Iha: [unintelligible] and thank you so much for coming out tonight.

(song ends)

Radio Intro tape

> 1979

BC: Thank you very much, thank you! Thank you. Thank you.

Iha: Thank you so much.

BC: Fantastic, thank you so much . Now...we got time for one more song if you wanna hear one more. You might recognize this off an album called Siamese Dream.

Silverfuck

(BC immediately after lyrics finish: Goodnight everybody, goodnight!)

Iha: Thank you.
