Today
Iha: Las Vegas. How you guys doin'? Thank you so much for coming out, we are the Smashing Pumpkins...and uh, we're glad to be here, thank you so much.
That Which Animates the Spirit
Tonight, Tonight
Ava Adore
(BC before bridge: Las Vegas, Nevada! Aw, come on, you can do better: Las Vegas, Nevada!!)
Disarm (acoustic)
Iha: Thank you.
BC: James, how you feelin' tonight?
Iha: I feel great. How you doin'?
BC: I'm great, I'm having a great time, thank you so much for being with us tonight. ... You know, James, I think, uh...when I'm up here playing these emotional songs, I have different reflections, inner reflections.
Iha: Yes, you do.
BC: And it occurred to me tonight, you're just rocking too hard.
Iha: Heh, heh. Well, heh heh...yeah, okay. That's, uh...that's valid you feel that.
BC: I, heh -- I'm glad you acknowledged my inner impressions.
Iha: I-I hear them.
BC: You guys having a good time? Well, if you're capable of crying, this would be the song. It's a song we wrote back in 1992. It is from the Siamese Dream...album. You might know this one.
Mayonaise
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Iha: Thank you, thank you, Las Vegas, how are you guys doing? You guys alright? Are you having a reasonable time? Uh, it's, uh, it's great being out here, in the land of gambling. And gila monsters, forget to, uh, heh.... Got somebody in...green, she loves the gila monsters. She said to talk about them frequently on stage and uh...god knows I love them. They're just out in the desert, crawling...under the sky. We love them so much. So, this is a new song.
Sighommi
Jellybelly
1979
Gossamer / The Spaniards
Iha: Thank you. I hope some of you followed us on that journey of the mind and psychedelic spirit. I'd like to introduce the band right now. The latest member of the Smashing Pumpkins...on guitar, all the way from Texas and California, Miss Kiki Wong.
Thunderstruck (tease - Kiki)
Iha: (sings along with the riff briefly). That was great, I-I gotta learn how to sing that one. And now, on vocals and acoustic guitar, all the way from Down Under, Australia, Miss Katie Cole, everybody, Katie Cole. You know him, you love him, could I get a drum roll? (Jimmy starts a drum roll) It's a very special day for the man on the bass guitar. He's a special man and it's his goddamn birthday today! (Jimmy stops) Mr. Jack Bates, everybody!
BC: James....
Iha: Jack Bates, yes.
BC: I think we should break out a happy birthday song for Jack.
Iha: (laughing) Yes. I think that's a great idea!
(Carrot Top and a couple other people push a cart onstage with a pile of In-N-Out burgers)
BC: Jack Bates. Ready? A one, a two, a three...
Happy Birthday (Iha and Katie sing different lines throughout)
BC: (during 2nd line) Oh my god, Carrot Top! Hahaha.
Iha: This is incredible, (singing) ...birthday dear Jack (speaking quickly) and thank you for Carrot Top for coming here.
BC: Jack, Carrot Top came for your birthday!
(song ends)
Iha: He just crashed your birthday! (singing) Happy birthday to...
BC: (singing) To Jack.
Iha: (singing) ...Jack...
BC: Thank you, Carrot Top!
Iha: (singing) ...to you and to Carrot Top.
(Carrot Top leaves)
Satisfaction (tease - Billy plays the riff a few times)
Iha: What -- what is this, uh, what is this birthday cake, Jack? In-N-Out Burger. This woman wants...a double double In-N-Out Burger, like, uh, this incredible display.
BC: Jack, I think you should distribute the In-N-Out burgers to the entire audience.
(Jack gestures)
Iha: (laughing) Alright. And now, a quick introduction of the other band members, uh.... The heartbeat of the band, Mr. Rock Steady, on the drums everybody, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin.
BC: Who's gonna come out now, James? Who's gonna come out now?
Iha: Uh...uh...[unintelligible], uh, I don't know any magician, Penn and Teller. They're comin' -- they're here on the Strip, right, so maybe they'll come out, they're not gonna come out.
BC: I think they retired.
Iha: That was incredible though. Alright, doing it all, on lead vocals and lead guitar, Mr. Billyyyyyy Corgan, everybody. Thank you guys so much for rockin' with us. And we got another jam, this is called Cherub Rock.
Cherub Rock
Ziggy Stardust (tease - Billy plays guitar and Iha eventually sings over it)
Iha: (singing) Ziggy played guitar. Jamming good with Weird and Gilly and the Spiders from Mars. He played it left hand but made it too far. Became the special man, then we were Ziggy's band. (speaking) How much of this are you gonna do?
Are You Gonna Go My Way (tease)
Iha: Las Vegas, what I really wanna know...are you gonna go my way? Are you gonna go my way?! ARE YOU GONNA GO MY WAY?!!!
Zero
(BC after final lyrics: Thank you very much! God bless you, thank you!)
Love Gun (tease)
Iha: Thank you guys, goodnight. Get home safe.
