Atum Intro

Bullet with Butterfly Wings

Iha: Thank you so much. Thank you so much, Philadelphia, we are the Smashing Pumpkins, thank you for coming out tonight!

Today

We Only Come Out at Night (acoustic)

Cyr

> Once in a Lifetime

Solara

Eye

(BC after 2nd chorus: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the rock show! We’re so pleased you’re with us tonight, thank you so much, thank you so much, we love you, thank you.)

(BC during outro singalong: Sing it with us! Come on, Philly, do it. Do it for Dr. J! Ow! Do it for a Philly win!)

> Ava Adore

(BC after Jimmy solo: Ow! Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin on the drum [sic]!)

Iha: Philadelphia, PA, thank you so much. How you guys doin’? Feelin’ alright, reasonably well? Evil hand? Thumbs up? Alright.

BC: James, how you feelin’ tonight?

Iha: I’m feelin’ pretty good, I’m pretty good. Awesome rock show, got nothin’ to complain about.

BC: James, I pride myself as a storyteller. I’d like to tell you a little story. 2016, the Chicago Cubs, our team –- at least you used to like the Cubs, I know you don’t like the Cubs anymore.

Iha: Ah, I do. Give it to me.

(crowd is booing)

BC: It’s okay, I know the Cubs aren’t good, it’s okay, your team is across the street playing in the playoffs, we get it.

Iha: This is a hot topic to bring it up right now.

BC: Let me tell my story!

Iha: Just sayin’ it’s hot.

BC: 2016, a young guy playing for the Cubs comes back from a season long injury and leads them to a World Series championship. His name: Kyle Schwarber.

Iha: Schwarber. Great hitting.

BC: Or as we call him in Chicago: Schwarbs. So there I am in the back. I get the groupies out of the room. I tell someone to take away the cocaine...and the molly...and the shrooms...and the Vicodin...and the Dilaudid. And uh...(laughing) where am I going with this story?

Iha: It’s great to be here in Philadelphia.

BC: There’s Schwarbs! First inning, first at bat: home run. Phillies are up. And James, I don’t know if you’ve seen the score, I’m sure –- I’m sure some people here are checkin’ their phone when they’re not listening to the rock. It’s –- I’ve never seen this -– it’s like 47 to nothing.

Iha: It’s unbelievable.

BC: So congratulations, thank you for being here with us. This is my favorite part of the show because I get to thank each and every one of you for supporting our band for over 34 years.

Iha: So much time.

BC: And did you know, did you know a young Kyle Schwarber listened to the Pumpkins?

Iha: (laughing / stuttering)

BC: Bryce Harper: big fan of your solo record.

Iha: A great hitter, MVP.

BC: Rhys Hoskins, growing up in Denmark or wherever he grew up...big fan of the Complex, Jimmy’s band.

Iha: Don’t worry, we’re gonna get back to the set here, heh, with some more music.

BC: Hey, listen, you guys are the best. This is one of the greatest rock and roll cities in the world. You know it, we know it--

Iha: Philadelphia Freedom.

BC: (laughing) I’m not gonna--

Iha: I think we should start playing before we, heh, go off –- go off the rails.

BC: Anyway. We dedicate this song to everyone here. It’s a little song we like to call Tonight, Tonight.

Tonight, Tonight (Billy/Iha acoustic)

Starla

Iha: Ow! Ow!

Stand Inside Your Love

I of the Mourning

Iha: Hoo boy. Thank you so much. I’d like to introduce the band right now. On vocals, all the way from Australia, Ms. Katie Cole. Katie Cole. On the bass guitar, all the way from Manchester, England, Mr. Jack Bates. Jack Bates. And now, all the way from Hollywood, California, Mr. Jeff Schroeder! Ah shit, there’s something wrong with the guitar, um.... And now...(laughing) aw great, it works. Okay, on the drums, Mr. Jimmyyyy Chamberlin! We bring out -– we buy all this ridiculous gear and then it breaks. (“swoosh” on the bass) Alright, it’s working. On lead vocals and hot guitar, Mr. Billyyyyyy Corgan! Hoo hoo! I’m James Iha and this is called Cherub Rock!

Cherub Rock

> Zero

> Love Gun (tease)

1979

Beguiled

> Silverfuck

Neophyte

BC: (mic not working correctly) Why won’t it come on? (hits mic 3 times) (mic working correctly now) Are you having a good time? Did the Phillies win?

Crowd: [variations on "Not yet"].

Iha: Nobody knows.

BC: I wrote this next here song about 30 years ago for an album called Siamese Dream. Before we play this song -- besides thanking you and the band for a beautiful night of music. Song and celebration. Like to give a little shoutout to WMMR. For bringing the rock, continuing to bring the rock: thank you.

Disarm (acoustic)

> Harmageddon

BC: Well, friends, we’ve reached the end. It’s where we play Enter Sandman and go home. James, have you had a good time?

Iha: I’ve had a hell of a time in Philly. We’re gonna have cheesesteaks after the gi -– after the gig.

BC: You know that’s offensive to me ‘cause I’m vegan.

(Iha laughs)

If There is a God (abandoned quickly)

Iha: I’m sure that it is.

(Billy stops playing to tune his guitar)

BC: I seem to have an issue. (testing guitar) Is this awkward?

Iha: Just hangin’ out in Philly, about to go home.

If There is a God

(BC before Jeff outro solo: Mr. Jeff Schroeder.)

> X.Y.U.

Iha: Thank you so much. Get home safe, drive safe.
