Glass and the Ghost Children
BC: Good evening, everybody, good evening. Gooooood evening! You know, um, when me and James were, uh, young boys, we used to listen to like, uh, live rock concerts and there’d always be that guy would say, “You know, you people, tonight we’re taping and, uh...”
Iha: That’s right!
BC: Well...that’s right, and, um, so just a, for those of you that don’t know, right now we’re, uh, live on the radio, WXRT. So tonight, people, we’re taping, let everyone hear you out there in Chicago.
Iha: I can’t hear you!
BC: Ah, we’d like to dedicate this next song to, uh, to a friend of ours, uh, Johnny Marr from WXRT, he’s celebrating his 20th anniversary at WXRT and I know me and James are, he was the guy that always played the Smiths and all the weird bands, so...thank you, Johnny. This song’s for Johnny.
I of the Mourning
This Time
BC: Thank you very much, thank you. Thanks. Now I’d like to introduce you to somebody. Many of you know him as a superhero, uh, a space age character. I just know him as this...sort of shy, introspective kind of guy. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. James Iha.
Blew Away
Stand Inside Your Love
Le Deux Machina (tape)
To Sheila (Billy acoustic w/Iha)
Disarm (acoustic)
BC: Thank you very much, thank you. We’d like to, uh, play a song for you we’ve never played live before, so...heh heh. You might not be cheering after the song, but, um... This is a song from our new album, it’s called Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try.
Try, Try, Try (acoustic)
Ava Adore (acoustic)
Mayonaise
The Everlasting Gaze
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
> Once in a Lifetime
Blue Skies Bring Tears
Tonight, Tonight
> Cherub Rock (abandoned)
BC: Hold on there, Jimmy. Hold on, Jimmy. Hold on, Jimmy. I think these people are a little too tired and they can’t handle the Cherub Rock right now. I mean, honestly, the show’s been a little long. We sort of, uh, went out on a limb a couple of times. It’s not fair to keep pushing these people past the boundaries of their hearing and their, their tolerance for rock and roll. ...
Iha: Are you peep - are you people still with us? Having a reasonable...[unintelligible] time? Are you still with us? Ready to rock once more? Alright.
Cherub Rock

Today
[encore break]
Iha: Hey, thanks a lot. Chicago, our hometown, you rock. Uh, I’d like to make some quick introductions. On drums and acoustic guitar, Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin. (Jimmy strums) Ah yes, the sweet sound of Spanish guitar licks. On lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Mr. Billy Corgan. (more strumming) Aye chihuahua. Uh, heh. And on the bass guitar and socialism, Ms. Melissa Auf der Maur. (more strumming) Aye carumba. Um, and I am...James. (strumming) Alright. What’s your favorite year?
1979 (acoustic, Jimmy plays guitar)
BC: Thank you so very much for a nice, wonderful, exciting, visceral, yes, even at times profane concert. Thanks a lot to all of you for coming.
Iha: Bless you.
BC: As always, it is, uh, an honor and privilege to play in front of our hometown. Of course, you truly understand what it means to be from the suburbs, and then being that we’re from the suburbs our self and we all know what that means. Dead.
Join Together
> Today (tease)
BC: Thank you, god bless you. Thank you.
Iha: Thanks a lot. Thanks a lot. Goodnight, everybody.
